  • From I-95, take exit 143B/Garrisonville Road/610W toward Garrisonville
  • Go about 3 miles until you see North Stafford High School on left
  • At next light, make a LEFT onto Shelton Shop Road
  • Go past Food Lion grocery store and turn RIGHT onto Soaring Eagle Drive
  • Turn LEFT onto Shepherd's Way

    • From I-95, take exit 126A toward Fredericksburg

    • From I-95, take exit 130 toward Fredericksburg
    • Take Route 1 South/Jefferson Davis Highway
    • At the Twin Lakes traffic light, take a RIGHT onto the service road that parallels Route 1
  • From the Service Road:
    • Turn RIGHT at the sign for Highway Assembly of God (next to day care with smiley faces)
    • Follow this drive to the church building 
    • Continue past the church building to the education buildings and gym

  • From Route 17-South:
    • Stay on Route 17-S for approximately 4.5 miles

Yes, FCS is accredited by the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI) and is an accredited member of the Virginia Council for Private Education.

What sports are offered at FCS?

 
6th and 7th grades:
 
Girls: volleyball, basketball, cheerleading, soccer
Boys: basketball, soccer, football through the Fredericksburg Area Youth Football League (weight and age restrictions apply) 
 
 
8th grade:
 
In addition to the above, 8th graders have the opportunity to participate with the high school in:
Girls: cross country, swimming, softball, field hockey
Boys: cross country, baseball, swimming, golf, lacrosse
 
 

High School:

Girls: volleyball, field hockey, cross country, basketball, cheerleading, swimming, soccer, softball

 Do preschool and kindergarten have an age cut-off date for enrollment?

  • Applicants who turn three by September 30th will be considered for enrollment in the Pre-K 3-year-old program.
  • Applicants who turn four by September 30th will be considered for enrollment in the Pre-K 4-year-old program.
  • Applicants who turn five by September 30th will be considered for Kindergarten.

Does FCS offer extended care?


Extended Care is offered for the Fredericksburg Lower School (PreK-3 - 5th grade) from 6:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. and the Stafford Campus (PreK-3 - 5th grade) from 6:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Please see the tuition charts under Tuition and Financial Assistance in the Admissions section for more details.

What curriculum is used for each grade level?


Curriculum Guides
are available for grades PreK3-8th; and an Academic Handbook is available for grades 9th-12th.  Please click on the links to view these resources.  For more detailed information, please speak with the administrator at the campus where the grade level is desired.

Is transportation available to the various FCS campuses?


We have various means of transporting students to and from our school facilities. We offer bus service to and from North Stafford, the Culpeper-Orange area west of Fredericksburg, and the King George area. We also offer bus-shuttle service between campuses for parents needing to drop students off at our Lower School and Upper School campuses. Finally, a number of our parents choose to carpool. For more information, please see the Bus Routes Schedule in the Downloads section and/or call our Transportation Coordinator at (540) 373-5355 ext. 139. Carpool Lists are available at any campus office and are updated each August before the start of the next Academic Year.

Current FCS families may obtain a copy of the current carpool list at any campus office. Carpool lists are updated each August and are available no later than the first day of school.

How do I sign up for the Honeywell Instant Alert™ System?


FCS uses the Honeywell Instant Alert™ System to instantly inform FCS families of school closings and delays through various electronic communication devices (home phone, cell phone, business phone, e-mail, etc.). In order to make sure you receive notifications that may effect your child, we ask that you sign up for the alert system and update any contact information. Below are the instructions for using the Honeywell Instant Alert™ System:

Register and create your account

  1. Go to the Honeywell Instant Alert for Schools website listed above.
  2. If you are not a staff member in the school, click on ‘New User’ below the login boxes.
  3. If you are a staff member in the school, use the User ID and Password given to you by the school.
  4. Complete the Student Information form. (Fields marked with * are mandatory.) Click ‘Submit.’
  5. Complete the corresponding Parent Information form. (Fields marked with * are mandatory.) Click ‘Submit.’
  6. After receiving the Confirmation message, click on ‘Proceed’ to get started with Instant Alert.
  7. Note: Remember your Login Name and Password so you may use it to update your profile.
View and check details about yourself and your family members

  1. Upon successful login, click on ‘Account Details.’
  2. Click on ‘Parent Profiles’ and then your name to view and edit details about yourself and your family members.
  3. Click on ‘Student Profiles’ to view details about your children enrolled in this school.
Configure alert settings for yourself

  1. Click on ‘Alerts.’ Click on ‘Alert Configuration.’
  2. Click on the name of a contact from the list.
  3. Click on the tabs (Phone, E-mail, Text Messaging, Pager) to view this person’s contact device information.
  4. Enter contact device information within the gray box and click ‘Add’ to add more contact devices.
  5. Click on the check boxes in the appropriate column to select which alert type(s) you would like to have sent to which device. Click on ‘Save’ when complete.
  6. For e-mail, text messaging and pagers you may send yourself a test message. Click on ‘Send Test Message’ to check if the address has been entered correctly. Common cell phone text messaging addresses are located in the Help section – click on ‘Help’ while on the ‘Text Messaging’ screen. You can also contact your cell provider to receive your text messaging address.

View History of Alerts
Click on ‘Alerts’ to view Alerts that have been sent to you. Use the calendar icons and “Alert Type’ list to filter.

Identify key contacts for your children

  1. Click on ‘My Other Contacts.’
  2. Click ‘Add New Contact’ and complete the form. (Fields marked with * are mandatory.)
  3. Click on the ‘Pick up Rights’ check box if you wish to allow this person the right to pick up your child from school. This person’s name will appear on a report for the school.
  4. Click ‘Add’ OR click ‘Save and Configure Alerts’ to directly configure alert settings for this contact.
  5. Select a child’s name from the drop down and click on ‘Change Priority’ in order to prioritize the contacts for that child. If you want a contact to receive Alerts, click on the ‘Yes/No’ button in the Contact List.
Set your ‘Out of Town’ calendar

  1. Click on ‘Account Details.’ Set your travel calendar and still stay in touch with your child’s school.
  2. Complete the form. (Fields marked with * are mandatory.) Use the calendar icons to specify travel dates.
  3. Assign a primary contact while you are away.

How do I schedule a tour of a particular campus?


You are welcome to come visit at any time. However, to better accomodate you, please call the office of the campus you are interested in touring so we can set aside a special time to show you around and answer your questions. You may also arrange for you and your child to sit in on a class (lower grades) or to have your child shadow a student (Upper School).

What is the average class size?


Our largest class size for all grade levels is 24 students. Our average class size school-wide is 18 students.

What are the school hours for the different campuses?


Stafford Campus:
Preschool and Kindergarten Program: 8:15 a.m.-12:35 p.m.
Elementary Program: 8:15 a.m.-3:05 p.m.
Extended Care Hours (PreK-5th grade): 6:30 a.m.-6 p.m.

Fredericksburg Lower School:
Preschool and Kindergarten Program: 8:10 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
Elementary School Program: 8:10 a.m.-3:10 p.m.
Extended Care Hours (PreK-5th grade): 6:30 a.m.-6 p.m.

Fredericksburg Upper School
School Hours: 8 a.m.-3:03 p.m. (8 class periods each day)

Do FCS high school students participate in mission trips?


Our high school students participate in mission programs and reach out to other Christian schools and international communities through mission involvement. We have been to Africa, Argentina, France, Guatemala, Haiti, Peru, and Uruguay, and have participated in a local inner-city mission trip in Richmond. In addition, each campus sponsors a child from Africa. International students have attended FCS from Africa, China, Denmark, France, Germany, Guatemala, Japan, Korea, Montenegro, Nigeria, Russia, Serbia, South America, Spain, Taiwan, Thailand, and Vietnam.

What type of drama opportunities exist at the high school level?


We offer drama activities for students in grades 7th through 12th. They meet for a regular drama class at the high school level. The students do presentations for chapel programs and usually have productions in the spring and fall.

What music classes are offered at the high school level?


We offer band, strings and chorus at the high school. Our high school chorale, "Savior's Echo," sings for special chapels and other programs.

Where can I find a sports physical, and how long is it valid?


Sports physicals are valid each school year from May 1st of the current year through June 30th of the succeeding year.  Please click here to download a Sports Physical Form.  Sports physicals can be completed by your student's primary care physician or a walk-in type clinic. The Athletic Department also offers sports physicals for a nominal fee in late spring.
