Drama at FCS has a unique focus: Where most schools see drama as an opportunity to show off and be seen, we see it as an opportunity to worship the Lord with our talents and perform for an audience of One. In addition to Introduction to Drama and Drama Practicum classes, we have several performance opportunities each year.

In the fall and spring, we have productions which are open to all students, whether or not they are in the classes. In the past we have performed several Shakespearean plays including Macbeth, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Romeo and Juliet, and Much Ado About Nothing. We provide a variety of other types of plays too, from the serious --- The Beams are Creaking, about Dietrich Bonhoeffer; Shadowlands, about C.S. Lewis; and The Robe, a fictional account of the Roman centurion who wins Christ’s cloak in the casting of the lots; to the comedic --- Fools, a Neil Simon play about a town that has been cursed with stupidity; Meet Me at the Prom, a 1950s romp about a group of seniors preparing to graduate, and You Can’t Take it With You, about the goings-on of a very eccentric family. Every production reveals a facet of the character of God since all truth is God’s truth.

Additionally, the advanced class (Drama Practicum) participates in a one-act play festival each fall, joining with public schools throughout the state for a weekend of productions and workshops. In the past, FCHS drama has won acting awards, theatre design awards, and a Judge’s Choice award for the play In the Tank.

Come join us for our 2013 Fall Production - "The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe," November 14th - 16th.  Tickets are $5.00 and students get in free with their student ID.
