Enduring Freedom Honor Team

The Enduring Freedom Honor Team consists of multi-talented Fredericksburg Christian High School students who are instrumentalists and musicians who perform patriotic tunes and period music, dressed in vintage World War II khaki and Eisenhower short jacket ensembles with authentic insignia and badges, and original visor caps.

The team has performed in a variety of venues, including the National D-Day Memorial in Bedford; the National Museum of the Marine Corps in Quantico; the Pentagon; Walter Reed Army Hospital, and The National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda MD; VA hospitals in Virginia, Maryland, New York, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, North Carolina and Washington, D.C.; The U.S. Capitol; the National Mall and other locations. They have received recognition from military installations, the House of Delegates in Richmond and have been featured in articles in the local newspaper, The Free Lance-Star.

They also support the Honor Flight Program, performing for more than 100 World War II and Korean War veterans as they visit the Nations Capitol and the National Museum of the Marine Corps. The 50th Anniversary of The Air Force One Pilots, the D-Day Survivors from the Bedford Boys, The 55V Training Pilots, the survivors of The U.S.S. North Carolina and the U.S.M.C. survivors of Iwo Jima are a few of the reunions The Honor Team has supported with their performances.

Mr. Greg Reed, their Commander, saw several needs for forming the ensemble.  Reaching out not just to today’s youth, but bringing them in direct contact with our greatest generation made for a unique experience for all involved.

The vintage uniforms and period music strike an immediate chord with older veterans, and the students have many opportunities to listen to veterans; stories and reminiscing. The music draws even seriously wounded soldiers to the halls of the hospital when the team plays.

The Enduring Freedom Honor Team's mission is to share this unique story about a group of high school students who dedicate countless hours bringing honor and attention to the men and women of the U.S. military, from World War II to those who serve today.  Please click here for a preview.
